Quick answer

Which eye surgery is right for me?

It depends on your prescription, corneal thickness and shape, age and eye health. Mild–moderate myopia with a healthy cornea may suit LASIK (₩1.9M–₩2.4M) or SMILE Pro (₩2.5M–₩4.0M); thin corneas may suit LASEK/PRK; high myopia often suits EVO ICL (₩5.2M–₩7.0M); presbyopia or cataract is treated with lens surgery. Your BGSS surgeon decides after a 2–3 hour exam.

General questions

What procedures does BGSS offer?

LASIK, LASEK/PRK, SMILE and SMILE Pro, EVO ICL / V-Toric ICL, and presbyopia and cataract lens surgery, at clinics in Seoul and Busan.

How much does vision correction cost?

Both eyes: LASIK ₩1.9M–₩2.4M, LASEK/PRK ₩2.2M–₩2.8M, SMILE/SMILE Pro ₩2.5M–₩4.0M, EVO ICL ₩5.2M–₩7.0M. Lens surgery ₩1.5M–₩7.25M per eye. Exam and standard meds included.

Is the exam included in the price?

Yes. The 2–3 hour pre-operative exam, surgery and standard post-op medications are included. Final price is confirmed after the exam.

How do I know if I am a candidate?

Send your prescription, age and eye history for a free pre-assessment. A surgeon makes the final decision after measuring your eyes in Korea.

How long do I need to stay in Korea?

Most international patients plan about one week. Surgery is often the same or next day after the exam, with checks before departure.

Is the clinic accredited?

BGSS was Korea's first JCI-accredited eye clinic. JCI audits patient-safety systems such as infection control and medication safety.

Who are the surgeons?

Twelve ophthalmologists across Seoul and Busan, led by founder Dr. Jong-Ho Lee, M.D., Ph.D. See our doctors.

Which languages are supported?

English, 中文, 日本語, Tiếng Việt, Монгол and Bahasa Indonesia, plus Korean, with medical interpreters on site.

How do I pay?

Card and overseas payment are accepted. English receipts and insurance documents are available.

Is surgery painful?

Numbing eye drops are used, so most people feel pressure rather than pain. Mild discomfort afterwards varies by procedure.

When can I fly?

Your surgeon checks your eyes before departure and confirms when it is safe to fly.

What happens if I have a problem after going home?

BGSS provides remote follow-up by message and English medical records so a local eye doctor can examine you if needed.

Where are the clinics?

Seoul: Hanyang Town, 823 Seolleung-ro, Gangnam-gu (Apgujeong Rodeo Exit 5). Busan: Ion City, 74 Seomyeon-ro (Seomyeon Station).

When is the clinic open?

Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 9:00–18:30; Sat 9:00–16:00; lunch 13:00–14:00. Closed Wednesdays, Sundays and public holidays.
